Mr. Dilip Jose comments on the preparedness as India keeps beds ready with Omicron rise to BUSINESS STANDARD Hindi -& Medical Buyer.

For the last few months, COVID bed occupancies were steady at 2 percent of the network beds of 7600 beds. During the second wave, we consistently had 90-95 percent occupancy for COVID, said Mr. Dilip Jose.

Mr. Karthik Rajagopal said, as per our operational plan, there will be six nurses, a doctor, and an ambulance available. Consent will be taken from parents. My answer is a definite yes. Even though kids are not as severely affected as adults. They do get affected, and of course, their chance of going to ICU and mortality is extremely low. But we should realize that they may harbor the virus, and they can pass it to others, including the elderly and the high risk that they meet with or within their family. So that is one strong reason for us to vaccinate children, said Dr. Sudarshan Ballal.
